Overall responsibility for network editorial strategy including story selection, coverage point-of-view, editorial planning
Establish and maintain network-wide standards for field journalists, assignment desk
Lead election coverage – including results and polling data, newsroom special technology
Oversee production of all major news, special events and breaking news
Assign and manage domestic and international correspondents
Implement overall news brand strategy in coordination with CEO and Chief Content officer
Identify, recruit, and develop reporting talent
Recommend and participate in technology selection to improve overall operational efficiency and competencies of news team
Accomplishments
Directly contributed to unprecedented 3-fold increase in ratings through a combination of improved editorial narrative, rapid and accurate election coverage, excellent and accurate reporting, and rapid dissemination of breaking news
Established process for calling election results which provided Newsmax with a noteworthy edge over competition
Raised standards of reporting, writing, field production
Made substantial and immediate enhancements to look / imaging of news and data graphics
