Responsibilities:

• • oversee all aspects of planning, preparation and presentation of WCBS flagship news program

  • exercise judgment and vision in selecting and structuring content for nightly telecasts

  • oversee work of producer, assignment editor, writers, reporters, anchors

  • develop and contribute story ideas for sweeps pieces

  • responsible for improving overall editorial quality and standards of on-air execution

Accomplishments:

• • in two years, brought CBS2 News at 11 to #1 in New York, making it the most viewed local news program in the United States (for the 1st time in 25 yrs)

  • made significant improvements to standards of execution - including editorial selections, talent performance, show pace, production techniques, graphics

  • coached producers, writers and reporters on best practices

  • refocused features / promoted pieces to better align them with CBS2 audience
